Cameroonian Community in Pittsburgh
The Cameroonian community is one of the most organized African community in Pittsburgh, with an association named “Cameroonian Community in Pittsburgh” (CCP). Located in Central Africa, Cameroon is Africa in Miniature; comprising a sample of all Africa in population, culture, economy, religion, and geographical. About 280 Cameroonians live in Pittsburgh and environs of which 100 are members to the CCP.
The aim of CCP is to foster Cameroonian culture, through solidarity, tradition etc. Promote Cameroonian and African values and customs to non Cameroonians, and connect Cameroonians to education, employment, business and training opportunities that will better our standard of living. Community meetings are heldevery Last Saturday of the Month.
CCP maintains active representation and involvement with the Union of African Communities in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County.
