Nigerian Community in Pittsburgh
Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and the eighth most populous country in the world. With a population of over 148 million, it is the most populous black country in the world. The Nigerian community in Pittsburgh consists of academicians, scientists, business people, students and members of the clergy.The community has two organized ethnic associations “Yoruba Association” and the “Ibo Association”.
Their mission is to empower and support the economic and social stability of all people of Nigeria. Both associations have strong representation with the Union of African Communities in Pittsburgh and Allegheny County, and conduct community meetings regularly at the St. Benedict the Moor Church, 91 Crawford St. Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
